About the Business Services Committee
The mandate of the Business Services Committee covers policy development and evaluation of central support services to the organization and schools, including finances, facilities and sites, equipment and supplies, student transportation, insurance and inventory control; tuition fees; community use of school facilities; demographic planning; capital construction programs; budgeting; audit reports; and safety and security.
The Business Services Committee usually meets on the second Wednesday of the month during the school year at 7:30 pm. You may confirm dates and start times on the Board’s web site.

Purpose of In Camera Meetings:
- Under provincial law, “A meeting of a committee of a board, including a committee of the whole board, may be closed to the public when the subject-matter under consideration involves,

the security of the property of the board; |
|

|
the disclosure of intimate, personal or financial information in respect of a member of the board or committee, an employee or prospective employee of the board or a pupil or his or her parent or guardian; |
|

|
the acquisition or disposal of a school site; |
|

|
decisions in respect of negotiations with employees of the board; or |
|

|
litigation affecting the board.” |
How to appear as a Delegation or Ask A Question at a Meeting:
- Members of the public who would like to address the Committee at a public meeting may do so as a delegation or through the public question period. A maximum of five delegations will be heard at any regular Committee meeting. To request a spot, please contact Sue Baker, Committee Coordinator at 613-596-8211, ext 8363, or by e-mail.
To appear as a delegation, you must submit your written statement to Sue Baker by 4:00 pm on the Thursday prior to a regularly scheduled Committee meeting. Your written statement will be included in the agenda package.
At the beginning of each Committee meeting, a maximum of 35 minutes will be allotted for delegations and public question period. Each delegation is restricted to four minutes speaking time if it is the first time appearing on an issue.
- A maximum of 15 minutes will be allotted for public question period at regular committee meetings. You must sign in with your public question prior to the meeting.
