Supervised Alternative Learning Committee

A Supervised Alternative Learning (SAL) Committee was established as required under the Education Act, Regulation 308, to assist parents/guardians of students of compulsory school age who are fourteen years of age or older in finding the learning program best suited to their child’s needs and interests.

Membership

As per Ottawa-District School Board’s policy P.044.GOV, the composition of SAL shall consist of:

 

  • One trustee and an alternate, both appointed by the Board at its organizational meeting (Pam FitzGerald and Donna Blackburn (Alternate)

 

  • The Executive Superintendent or a designated alternate appointed by the Director of Education

 

  • One community representative and alternate, neither of whom is a member or employee of the Board.

Only members are entitled to attend and receive materials for this committee.
