Brett Reynolds

I am very pleased to announce the appointment of Brett Reynolds  to the position of Associate Director of Education for the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board.  Brett will begin in this new role effective January 8, 2018.

Brett is a well-respected leader with an exceptional understanding of our school district.  He began his career with the District in 1996 as a secondary teacher, and quickly moved into positions as department head, vice-principal and principal. In 2014, Brett became a superintendent of instruction and, in addition to his family of schools responsibilities, he has held portfolio assignments in Safe Schools, Emergency Preparedness, Secondary School Operations, Equity and Inclusion, Indigenous Education, Student Well-Being, and Student Leadership.

Over the past 21 years, Brett has proven to be an educational leader with a strong focus on student learning and well-being. His detailed knowledge of the operational workings of the school district has always guided his decision-making and will be a key attribute in his new role. "I feel very fortunate to have this opportunity to work with the staff, Board of Trustees, families, and community partners to support student learning and well-being in our city. There are many great initiatives underway at the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board and it is a privilege to have this leadership opportunity."

Director of Education, Dr. Jennifer Adams, said "I am very pleased to announce Brett's appointment to the role of Associate Director.  The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board is fortunate to have such a talented team of senior administrators.  Brett’s knowledge, experience and leadership skills have prepared him well for this new role. I know that the entire school district joins me in welcoming him. I would also like to express my sincere appreciation to Interim Associate Director Diane Jeudy-Hugo for the incredible work she has done and continues to do for this school district."

On behalf of the entire school district, I extend very best wishes to Brett in this new leadership role.
