Community Use of Schools

Community Use of Schools rentals for the 2023-2024 school year are finished as of May 31, 2024.  Fields and Ball Diamond requests can still be submitted for the spring and summer.

The submission time for Summer 2024 rentals for indoor spaces is now finished and we are no longer accepting rental requests for this summer.

Schools are hubs of the community and a convenient venue for a host of recreational and group activities. School facilities provide a place to come together, volunteer, access community programs, become physically active and build strong and healthy communities.

In partnership with the Ministry of Education and the Parent & Community Engagement Office of the Inclusive Education Branch, the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board makes school space more affordable and accessible in support of healthy, active lifestyles and helping to build vital communities that offer the residents within the District a higher quality of life.

If your association, business or, not-for-profit organization is looking for affordable, flexible meeting options or recreational space, we have plenty of choices. Available from 6pm – 10pm on weeknights and 8am - 6pm on Saturday and Sunday throughout the school year, our schools offer classrooms, gymnasiums, auditoriums, cafeterias, meeting spaces, sports fields and ball diamonds that are ideal for small and medium gatherings as well as recreational activities. Rates are reasonable and parking is free.

To ensure fair and equitable access to District facilities, community groups seeking the use of school facilities must obtain a permit. Returning clients are given first priority to the space they permitted in the previous year. Upon completion of school and returning client requests, space may be available to community groups on a first come, first serve basis. This is dependent upon facility availability, custodial staff and/or other District approved personnel. Applicable fees will apply according to the approved user fee schedule.

**  On October 17, 2018 Cannabis was legalized in Canada.  The OCDSB wishes to advise all CUS permit holders that recreational cannabis possession and/or use is not, and will not be permitted on any OCDSB property.  Thank you for your cooperation.
