The local tentative agreement between the Board and ETFO, representing OCDSB elementary teachers, was ratified on Monday, December 7, 2015. This means that the new collective agreement, including both the central and local settlements, is now in effect.
We are pleased to announce that a tentative local agreement has been reached with the Elementary Teachers' Federation of Ontario and its Ottawa Teacher Local representing elementary occasional school teachers. The terms of the agreement will remain confidential until ratified by both parties. Ratification is scheduled to be completed by or before January 31, 2016.
The OCDSB has five other OSSTF support staff bargaining units which represent school office and administrative staff, custodial and maintenance staff, library and guidance technicians, early childhood educators, educational assistants, psychologists, social workers and speech language pathologists, Adult ESL Instructors and childcare workers.
Local negotiations with these bargaining units are on-going and we remain committed to negotiating fair and fully funded agreements with all of our bargaining units.
Elementary teachers (ETFO) have voted to accept the new central agreement with the province.
Under the terms of the central agreement for elementary teachers, the timing of the fall progress report was delayed. At the OCDSB, elementary progress reports will be issued for all students in grades 1 through 8 on December 10, 2015. These reports will cover the regular fall reporting period, from the first day of school to October 30th, 2015. The reports will include information about progress and teacher comments.
The OCDSB has one other ETFO bargaining unit which represents occasional teachers. Local negotiations with these bargaining units are on-going and we remain committed to negotiating fair and fully funded agreements with all of our bargaining units.
