OCDSB Launches iPhone App

At the OCDSB we are constantly seeking new ways to ensure our students, staff and community members are informed and engaged. We want the OCDSB community to know what is going on in the District and that their unique perspectives on all issues are heard and valued. 

The way in which information is delivered and feedback is collected has changed. Our stakeholders continue to come to public meetings and send letters, but they also tweet, post to Facebook and create video blogs that they upload to YouTube. Knowing this, it is integral that we as a District find ways to ensure that information is easily accessible for all stakeholders in the formats they most often use. Doing this allows for all partners to engage in the process of learning about the District and its schools, and to be a part of the decision-making process. 

The OCDSB app provides users with up-to-date news, event information and alerts (i.e. school closures, bus cancellations).  Users will also be able to access the school locator, bus delay information, OCDSB social media accounts and much more. This is the natural next step for communication to parents, students, staff and community members – but more than that, we hope that it shows that we are all connected as we work together to ensure the success of our students.
