Meet Ottawa’s Future Business Leaders at the Entrepreneurial Adventure Showcase

Thursday, June 10, 2010 Rotunda of Place d’Orleans  

Wednesday, June 9, 2010, Ottawa, ON — The winners of the BMO National Student Innovation Awards will be announced at the Entrepreneurial Adventure Showcase on Thursday, June 10, 2010 at the Rotunda of Place d’Orleans shopping centre at 11:30 a.m. The announcement will be followed by a showcase from noon to 1 p.m. featuring young business leaders with their displays. Students will be explaining how they managed to bring their business ideas to life and help a charitable cause in the process. Max Keeping will host the event.

Meet the CEOs from  Castlefrank Elementary School with A Night At The Opera –  Ottawa goes Hollywood; Stittsville Elementary with King Putt – a new slant on golf; see Castor Valley with T2K – students mentoring students; Henry Munro Intermediate School with Stand Up In A Crowd, Be Cool, Stay In School; Stittsville Elementary School with Crafty Kidz building hope for all children in sports; and Henry Munro  - The Great Chocolate Adventure...  

The Entrepreneurial Adventure Program is designed to help students in Grades 6 – 12, teachers and the business community explore the “entrepreneurial” world together by turning ideas into reality. Students create their own ventures and enhance their enterprising skills such as goal setting, critical thinking, communicating, collaboration, team work, leadership and risk taking.

Established in 1993, The Learning Partnership (TLP) is a national not-for-profit organization dedicated to championing a strong public education system in Canada through innovative programs, credible research, policy initiatives and public engagement. Since its inception, more than three million students and teachers have participated in one or more of TLP’s programs, including Take Our Kids to Work™, Welcome to Kindergarten™ and Entrepreneurial Adventure.
