OCDSB schools with Full-Day Kindergarten Programs will offer an Extended Day Program, before and after school, subject to sufficient enrolment. The programs are led by registered Early Childhood Educators who deliver the Ministry of Education’s Extended Day Program curriculum which includes structured and non-structured activities and offers children opportunities to learn through play.

There are two ways an extended program can be offered. The District can run its own program or an eligible child care operator can enter into an agreement with the District to offer programming on the District’s behalf.  Please see the details provided under the "Third Party Operator" tab for more information.

For District Programs, formal confirmation as well as additional information (such as fee schedules, banking withdrawal information, etc.) will be sent to parents via email in the summer months prior to the start of the school year. Parents can be assured that if they register they are guaranteed a space. If the registrant is looking for a subsidized space, they must indicate that on the registration form and register with the City of Ottawa Child Care Registry and Waitlist (CCRAW). Please see the details provided under the “Subsidy” tab for more information.

**Please note that the email addresses entered on the school database system will be used for all Extended Day Program communication throughout the school year. It is the responsibility of all parents/guardians to ensure their email address is always up to date on the school database in order to be aware of important updates and deadline information related to the Extended Day Program.
