Be one of the more than 12,000 people who take classes every year ranging from computers to music, from crafts and automobile repair to lifestyle management. Most courses are offered in the evening, but some are offered during the day and on Saturdays.

Academic Upgrading & Employment Preparation Literacy and Basic Skills (LBS)
Looking for a job but have little work experience? Thinking about returning to high school? Our Employment Preparation and Upgrading Program can help you. Academic Upgrading prepares learners for high school, with an opportunity to achieve PLAR credits. Our Adaptive Learning Program offers services to adults with developmental disabilities.

The Extra Curricular Creative Arts Program (ECCA)
Did you know that your child can take group piano lessons in various OCDSB elementary schools? Or are they more interested in guitar, flute, violin, or lego® robotics? Our ECCA program offers a wide variety of classes at lunch time or after school at 28 elementary schools throughout the board.

International Languages Program (IL)
How do you prepare to be a global citizen? Give your child the opportunity to learn a new language or to maintain the language of their heritage. In partnership with community groups, we offer classes in 43 different languages at the elementary level and 22 languages at the secondary level. Choose a language of your choice or contact us if you want to start a new language. This program is funded by the Ministry of Education and therefore there is no cost to parents.

Outdoor Education Centres
Our students have the unique opportunity to discover the natural environment at the Bill Mason (west end) and MacSkimming (east end) Outdoor Education Centres. Grade 3 and 7 classes participate in a free program each year as part of the OCDSB’s Every Student Attends program. In addition to Natural Science, we offer programs in Canadian History, Outdoor Skills, and Team building. Rental facilities are available at MacSkimming Outdoor Education Centre to community and private groups.
