Focus Programs
OCDSB > Programs > Secondary > Focus Programs

Focus programs give students the opportunity to take a concentration of courses in a subject area that may not be available at their home school.

Focus programs give students in grades 11 and 12 the opportunity to earn four credits in a subject area of interest in one semester. These programs feature in-class and practical experience, specialized facilities, equipment, and teacher expertise.

Benefits

  • Enhance your skills
  • Learn from professionals in the field and make important career contacts
  • Study with other students who share your interests
  • Be better prepared for your transition to university, college, apprenticeship, or the workplace
  • Get an early start on a rewarding career

Programs

There are currently 3 Focus programs offered by the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board - Wood Working, House Building (Construction Projects), and Landscape and Design.

Check out the Focus Program Flyer pdfto learn more or visit the Focus Programs page for the most up to date information available.

The OCDSB would also like to thank those community partners who have supported our school based Focus (and SHSM) Construction Programs by providing houses for our students to build. We are building futures together!
