Capital Educators' Awards
Awarded annually from nominations by students, staff, parents/guardians.

The Ronald K. Lynch Memorial Award
Awarded annually from nominations received from superintendents, trustees, principals and managers.
The criterion for the award is:
An outstanding and significant contribution reflecting either a sustained compassionate and dedicated commitment by an Ottawa-Carleton District School Board employee to the success of students with special education needs or a specific singular contribution of demonstrated benefit to students with special education needs.
To be considered, all forms must be received in the office of the Superintendent of Human Resources attention Judith Kingsbury by 4:00 p.m. on March 11, 2011. The Ronald K. Lynch Memorial Award will be awarded at a special presentation in the spring.
The Innovation Award
Awarded annually from nominations received from superintendents, principals and managers.
The criterion for the award is:
- Noteworthy contribution of an OCDSB staff member to the development of innovative concepts, suggestions, actions or process improvements that result in immediate and significant ongoing benefit to the Board.
If you would like to nominate someone for this award, please refer to Procedure PR.621.HR Employee Recognition for information on the nomination process. You are required to submit at least two paragraphs explaining why you feel your nominee should be considered and will need to have three signatures in support of the nomination. You may submit your information electronically to Judith Kingsbury on BEAM, and follow up with a paper copy to ensure that the supporting signatures are provided for the record. The nominations will go to the Director’s Executive Council for approval.

The Mentoring Award
Awarded annually from nominations received from the Mentoring Committee. As per Procedure PR.621.HR, the Mentoring Committee will seek nominations from principals, managers, supervisors and Director’s Executive Council.
The criterion for the award is:
"For outstanding contribution and support provided to the Mentoring program that has resulted in having a significant impact in the development of a beginning employee."

Nominations for the 2011 Mentoring Award should be directed to Janice McCoy, Superintendent of Human Resources, by March 11, 2011. The final recommendation from the Mentoring Committee will go to the Director’s Executive Council for approval by the end of March 2011. The Mentoring Award will be presented at a special presentation in the spring.
