Geometer's Sketchpad LessonLink Subscriptions

Key Curriculum Technologies has extended the contract for The Geometer’s Sketchpad Version 5 to include their online Lesson Links library.  Ontario teachers can sign up for an individual 3-year Sketchpad LessonLink subscription. Download the instructions.

 

Netmaths is now available!

OSAPAC has released Netmaths, an online French resource for French Immersion students and teachers in mathematics in Grades 4 to 8.  There are a wide variety of French activities available. Teachers can directly enrol themselves and their students on the website: http://on.netmaths.net/EnseignantOntario

Google Sites

Would you like to create a website?  Did you know that Google sites provides a free and easy way to create and share a website? The only requirement is a Google Gmail account. In this workshop you will learn how to create a site, add different types of pages, choose or change the  template, add text, images and links, and where to find other custimization tools.

Adobe Lightroom 3 – Beg./Inter.  Level - 4:00 – 5:30 PM Optional 45 min Q & A after 5:30


Adobe Lightroom 3 and OnOne Perfect Photo Suite 6 for Digital Photographers

Participants will be able to purchase an educational copy of Lightroom 4 for $41.61 (retail price $299.00) purchasing details provided at workshop. Participants will be able to purchase an educational copy of on OnOne Perfect Photo Suite 6 Special Educator pricing details at the workshop.
Level: Beginner to Intermediate

Overview:
This Hands On Workshop using Adobe Lightroom 3 allows users to view, organize, edit, print and create slideshows and web content from their images.  It features a well-organized and simple to understand workspace, with easy to understand and powerful controls.

Participants will learn:
· Importing and Organizing you photos
· Tethered shooting (connecting your camera to your computer)
· Backing up images
· Proper workflow (importing, editing and exporting your images)
· Fixing images that are too dark or too bright
· Converting to Black and White
· Creating Slide Shows
· Exporting images for print or web

OnOne Photo Suite 6 (2nd half of day 2)
Participants will learn how they can use OnOne Photosuite 6 as a standalone product or part of their Lightroom or Photoshop Elements workflow, to give a professional finishing touch to their images.
· Resizing Images
· Changing the focal point
· Retouching Portraits
· Layouts, Edges and Adornments
· Masking (removing images from the background)

Location: Merivale High School, Room  T2
Dates:  May 28th and 30th  (two day session) - you must register for both dates separately

Location: Carine Wilson High School
Participants will receive a copy of Ministry Licensed Photoshop Elements 8
Level: Intermediate

Overview: (Hands on Workshop)

Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 is the little brother to Adobe Photoshop.  In this workshop participants will work hands on in the Photoshop Elements Editor working with sample images.

Participants will learn:
· Importing images into the editor
· Cropping and resizing an image
· Layers and how to use them
· Selecting and changing parts of an image
· Adding text
· Removing unwanted areas from an image
· Using multiple images to create one image
· Fixing common image problems
