Grilling for a Good Cause: Staff Barbeque Supports the Education Foundation of Ottawa
On September 27th, staff at the OCDSB’s central administration
office celebrated the new school year with a Fall Barbeque lunch. The
event combined great food with a great cause, with all proceeds going to
support the Education Foundation of Ottawa.
The
barbeque served up delicious burgers and hot dogs, with Halal and
vegetarian options, while building a sense of community and giving staff
an opportunity to re-connect.

This event is the latest in a series of activities organized by the OCDSB’s Social Committee to bring together staff in central departments and raise vital funds for children in our communities. From a successful Spring Barbeque to a pumpkin-decorating contest to outdoor yoga, these events have raised $1,500 for the Education Foundation!
Throughout the year, schools, families, and staff support the Education Foundation in a variety of ways, from the annual Toonie Tuesday campaign in February to fundraisers organized by School Councils and students. These efforts help the Foundation to provide children with tools for success like nutritious food, school supplies, and the opportunity to take part in meaningful activities.
