Rockcliffe Park Public School was founded in 1922. The original structure, situated on Park Road, included four classrooms with forty-one students enrolled. The school expanded as the community grew, and by 1968, the original building was replaced with a new structure (source: Rockcliffe Park, A History of the Village by Martha Edmond).

Today, Rockcliffe Park P.S. welcomes more than 400 students from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 6 from the communities of Rockcliffe, Lindenlea, New Edinburgh, and Lower Town. The school is located in Ottawa’s Rockcliffe neighbourhood, which is rich in history and home to a number of embassies and diplomatic families from all over the globe. The school is well known for its successful annual Book Fair, which has brought together the community since 1961. It has a freshly renovated Learning Commons and Makerspace area, an ice rink next door, and a growing interest in the Forest Learning philosophy.

quote

Being new to the school as Principal, I am excited to be taking part in such a milestone celebratory event. It is evident to me that the school is rich in both history and pride. During my short time here, I have had the pleasure of interacting with former staff members, alumni, community volunteers and local business partners – all of whom are quite fond of our school and look forward to recognizing the positive impact it continues to have on everyone who walks through its doors. - Principal Brian Chiasson
