2021 - 2022 Budget

School districts operate on a fiscal year that runs from 01 September to 31 August. The District’s budget for the upcoming fiscal year must be approved by the Board before the end of June of the current year. To meet this timeline, a staff-recommended budget will be presented to the Committee of the Whole Budget (COW Budget) on 26 May 2021 and several meetings are scheduled to obtain comment from the public, to provide the Board with an opportunity to establish the District’s priorities and to refine the allocation of resources.

 

The tentative public meeting dates at which budget matters will be discussed are:
 

04 May 2021         Update, including information on Ministry grants (GSN)

26 May 2021         Presentation of the staff-recommended budget

01 June 2021       Public delegations, budget debate commences

09 June 2021       Budget debate continues

15 June 2021       Budget debate, recommendation to the Board

21 June 2021       Board approval *

 

*A special Board meeting may be held immediately following COW Budget’s recommendation.
