OCDSB Cares - An anonymous reporting tool for students

OCDSB Cares provides an anonymous reporting tool for students looking to share concerns about the health, well-being and safety of themselves or others.

The OCDSB Cares team is independent from your school and can report your concerns to your school anonymously. They do not counsel and do not offer advice beyond what is contained within the standard operating procedures i.e. “if you require counseling, please call ...”.

How is it anonymous if I text from my phone?

The system receives an encrypted, scrambled number only. No identifier of the source phone number or source device is visible at any time to the operators of Service Centre or the School Board staff.

What happens if a report is made after school hours?

Our system is monitored by a live operator during the hours of 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on school days only. A live operator will respond to an after-hours text report first thing the next school day, and continue in conversation with the user.

Support for students

OCDSB Cares is not meant to replace urgent or emergency services. If you are in an emergency situation, please contact 911.

OCDSB Cares anonymous reporting tool is also not meant to replace school supports available, but rather to provide an option for students. Students are encouraged to continue to reach out to their teachers, principal or other school staff when in need of assistance.

Additionally, OCDSB Cares provides links to urgent supports, school supports, and community resources:
