5 Great Reasons for a Career in the Trades: An Evening with Parents and Students

Is your child exploring future pathways or considering a career in the trades? On February 25th, 2021, the OCDSB hosted a virtual event for grade 8-12 students and their parents/guardians, offering insight into the exciting field of skilled trades.

In this dynamic presentation, Job Talks Executive Director Dr. Jon Callegher shared with parents his latest research on the emotional and experiential challenges facing young people today. He also revealed five data-driven reasons for why working in the skilled trades, especially in a post-COVID-19 world, is an ideal career option. Participants were able to ask questions that were answered by OCDSB staff and the speaker.
You can watch the recording of the Q&A session from the event below or on YouTube.
