The trustees elect will be sworn-in at a public meeting on November 15, 2022 and will serve a four-year term. Until then, the current Board of Trustees will remain in office.

The Board of Trustees works together to:

  • promote student achievement and well-being;
  • deliver effective and appropriate educational programs;
  • develop, maintain and monitor effectiveness of Board policies;
  • develop, communicate and review the Strategic Plan;
  • monitor the performance of the Director of Education; and
  • practice responsible stewardship of Board resources.

Over the coming weeks, the five returning and seven newly elected trustees will participate in an extensive orientation program to learn more about their role and responsibilities under the Education Act. Professional development topics include: governance; finance; human resources; strategic planning; family and community engagement; and Indigenous education, equity, and human rights.

Our appreciation to everyone who came out in support of student achievement and well-being through this election. We look forward to working with the new Board.
