The Skills for Success Workplace Training Program offers comprehensive in-class and hands-on training to prepare individuals for two rewarding career paths: Health Care Aide and Education Assistant.

Courses Offerings
Preparation for Health Care Aide (In-class only)
Prepare to work with older adults in a Retirement Home setting. Complete certificates in Standard First Aid and Safe Food Handling. Study health care, anatomy, common diseases, and caring for older adults. Learn communication and problem-solving strategies for working in the healthcare sector.
September 2023 to March 2024
Participate in a paid workplace placement (90 Hours)

Preparation for Education Assistant (In-class only)
Prepare to work one-on-one and in small groups with school age children and youth with disabilities in a classroom setting. Learn about child and youth development, different learning/behavioral strategies for working one-on-one with a student in a classroom setting. Complete certificate in Standard First Aid/CPR/AED
September 2023 to March 2024
Participate in a paid workplace placement (90 Hours)

Eligibility for Skills for Success Workplace Training Program
- Must be 19 years of age or older
- Must have strong oral communication (CLB 5+)
- Should have less than a grade 12 level of education (Canadian equivalent).
- Should be unemployed, underemployed and/or receiving social assistance.
