Capping Off 2020: Virtual Commencement Ceremonies

In the spring, our graduating class finished high school in a year that none of us expected. They earned the pride of their family, friends, teachers and principals. And now, it's time to celebrate their achievement.

Despite our hopes to offer in-person commencement ceremonies this fall, it is clear that this will not be possible due to the continued COVID-19 risk in Ottawa-Carleton and the health and safety guidelines still in place. To ensure a safe celebration for our graduates of 2020, all OCDSB secondary schools will be providing a virtual commencement ceremony on Thursday, December 10, 2020 at 7:00pm.

Schools will stream pre-recorded ceremonies featuring messages for graduates, presentation of diplomas and awards, and valedictorian speeches.

We look forward to connecting with our graduates, celebrating their incredible achievements, and recognizing the impact they made on our OCDSB community during their time here.

In the coming weeks, schools will be sharing additional information with families about the ceremonies and distribution of diplomas and certificates. Graduates and their families can watch the ceremony through a private, unlisted video link. Schools will send an email with more information to graduates (at their OCDSB email address) and their parents/guardians.

Join in the celebrations on social media using the hashtag #CappingOff2020!
