Hello Students,

Thank you to everyone who has participated in the OCDSB 2023-2027 strategic plan consultation process. It has been so energizing to connect with you and have a chance to hear your stories, thoughts and ideas. It is critical that our staff listen carefully to the experiences and ideas of students as we consider this path forward, in order to ensure we can shape a future for the OCDSB that is meaningful to you. If you were not able to join one of the sessions, there are other ways you can share your thoughts with our leadership team. Please visit our website to find out how to get involved.

On January 31, the Board of Trustees approved the motion to hire a Jewish Equity Coach within the OCDSB. This is an important step in the District’s commitment to preventing, addressing and challenging antisemitism, and ensuring we are working together to build a future that is free of discrimination and hate. The addition of this position will provide stronger support in protecting and promoting Jewish student well-being.

Report Cards

Report cards will be emailed to you and your parent or guardian on Friday, February 10, 2023. You will need to enter your Ontario Education Number (OEN) with hyphens to open the report card. The format is XXX-XXX-XXX. You can find your OEN on a previous report card. Learn more about report cards on our website, and please contact your school directly if you have any questions or concerns.

Weekly Update from Ottawa Public Health

Ottawa Public Health continues to see an encouraging picture of the overall levels of respiratory viruses circulating in Ottawa. However, they emphasize that levels of COVID-19 remain high, and that being vaccinated against the flu and COVID-19, wearing a mask in indoor public places, and staying home when sick are still the best ways to limit the spread of these viruses. Read the update here

Upcoming Continuing Education Opportunities

The OCDSB offers a number of Continuing Education opportunities to learners of all ages, including international and Indigenous language classes, workplace training and academic upgrading, and more. February 21 is Toonie Tuesday - When you give a little, you help a lot!

This year, with your support, the Education Foundation of Ottawa is hoping to raise $80,000. These dollars will go directly to support OCDSB students with what they need to be successful - the Education Foundation of Ottawa supports OCDSB students in need by providing healthy food and snacks, warm coats, new backpacks and school supplies, and more. You can bring $2 (or more) to school anytime between now and Toonie Tuesday (February 21st, 2023) to make a donation. Learn more.
