Secondary International Languages Program

The focus of the International Languages Secondary Program is to:

  • Provide a valuable basis for courses in International Languages at the high school level (for credit)

  • Give adults and secondary school students the opportunity to learn a new language or to develop and maintain a language other than English or French

  • Prepare students for post-secondary studies in the fields of business, trade and communications

  • Enhance student exchanges

  • Develop students training skills for national and international opportunities.

For further information and to view our course offerings please read the following documents:

The credit language courses are in three levels: BD (grade 10), CU (grade 11), and DU (grade 12).
Grade 9 students can only register in BD level language courses as CU and DU level courses have prerequisites (BD and CU respectively).  Students in grade 11/12 who are newcomers and are interested in registering in a level without the prerequisite will need to be assessed on their competency in the target language.
