Daily physical education is part of a healthy and active lifestyle. Physical Education is offered at all grade levels in our schools.
In addition, OCDSB elementary students may participate in an outdoor education in Grade 3 and Grade 7 through the Every Student Attends Program. The program entitles each Grade 3 and 7 class in the OCDSB to one free field trip per year to either the Bill Mason or MacSkimming outdoor education centres
Grade 3 and Grade 7 classes may choose from one of the following curriculum-based outdoor programs for their visit:
At Bill Mason Outdoor Education Centre:
Grade 3: Plants and Soils Program (Fall & Spring)
Map Reading (Fall & Spring)
Grade 7: Interactions within Ecosystems (Fall & Spring)
The Fur Trade in Upper Canada (Fall & Winter)
At MacSkimming Outdoor Education Centre:
Grade 3: Plants and Soils Program (Fall & Spring)
Early Life in Canada (All seasons)
Grade 7: Interactions within Ecosystems (Fall, Winter & Spring)
The Fur Trade in Upper Canada (Fall, Winter & Spring)
All programs are developed to be active, hands-on, and take place in a natural outdoor setting.
