Math

The OCDSB is committed to helping every student develop strong math skills, which are essential for their future success.  Our skilled educators provide inclusive and responsive math instruction to help every student develop the knowledge and problem-solving skills they need to thrive in school, in the workplace, and in their daily lives.

To support this goal, we’ve developed a Math Achievement Action Plan in line with the Ministry of Education’s 2023 Math Strategy. This strategy focuses on improving student success in math and guides school boards to concentrate on three key areas:

  • Making sure the math curriculum is taught consistently across all schools
  • Providing ongoing training for teachers to strengthen their math knowledge
  • Ensuring that math tasks and supports meet the individual needs of each student
