The session will have a keynote address by Lisa Anna Palmer, Founder and CEO of Light Your Leadership Inc., the international best-selling author of Light A Fire In Their Hearts: The Truth
About Leadership, and the creator of the global LYLTalks podcast. She will provide detailed information and tips about creating an atmosphere of belonging at the School Council table.
The keynote will be followed by a panel discussion on three main topics:
- School Councils Working With School Administrators
This discussion will provide tips and examples to School Councils on how to be a part of the school’s learning plans and understand what schools need support with.
It will also provide information on how to get more involvement from the school community and how to communicate their needs with the school councils.
- School Gardens And Their Positive Impact In The Community
This discussion will highlight the importance of school gardens and the positive impact it can have in the community.
- Recruiting a Diverse School Council
This discussion will provide tips and suggestions on how to engage diverse parents and caregivers, and encourage their participation in the School Councils.
