Credit Recovery Program
July 2 - July 23, 2021, 9:00am - 12:15 pm

The OCDSB’s Continuing Education Department is offering a virtual Credit Recovery opportunity for students recommended by their day school. Credit recovery is available to students who had a final grade of less than 50% during the 2019/2020 and the 2020/2021 school year.

  • Course Options: Priority will be given to compulsory credits at grade 9 - 12 levels (including ESL/ELD).
  • Students may be registered in up to 3 Credit Recovery courses.
  • Students will engage in both synchronous and asynchronous learning throughout the scheduled school day via Google Meets and Google Classroom.

Eligible Students:

  • OCDSB students who have failed or received an “I” in a course during the 20/21 school year.
  • Must be currently registered in an OCDSB secondary school including those who have returned to their home country.

Academic Upgrading (55 hours)
June 30 - July 23, 2021, 8:30 am - 11:45 am (no classes on July 1, 2021)

This program is for students who have passed the course and wish to upgrade their mark and/or build on prior learning. Students are required to attend the full summer school session (55 hours) to meet curriculum expectations outlined by the Ministry of Education. Attendance is mandatory in synchronous and asynchronous learning in order to successfully complete the program. Vacations and holidays should not be taken during the duration of the course.

Eligible Students:

  • Must be currently registered in an OCDSB secondary school
  • Must have completed the course with a passing grade

School Day Schedule: 8:30 am to 11:45 am

Fees:

Student fees are required for:

  • International students (must be residing in Ontario in order to participate in this program)
  • Students residing outside of Ontario at the time of registration.

The fee for a Summer School credit is $500.00 + 3% administration fee payable online by Visa or Mastercard. Payment information will be provided upon receipt of the registration.

Requirements for Success: 

  • Students will need to login and participate in synchronous learning with their teacher daily, until the credit(s) are recovered (if applicable) or the program ends.
  • As this is a virtual learning opportunity, in order to participate in this program students will need to have access to technology and the internet.  Students who require technology and access to the internet should  communicate their needs to their Guidance Counsellor.
