Credit Recovery Program
Registration: April 6 - June 24, 2021
Program Duration: July 2 - July 23, 9:00am - 12:15pm
Continuing Education will offer a virtual Credit Recovery opportunity for students recommended by their day school. Credit recovery is available to students who had a final grade of less than 50% during the 2019/2020 and the 2020/2021 school year.
- Course Options: Priority will be given to compulsory credits at grade 9 - 12 levels (including ESL/ELD).
- Students may be registered in up to 3 Credit Recovery courses.
- Students will engage in both synchronous and asynchronous learning throughout the scheduled school day via Google Meets and Google Classroom.
Eligible Students:
- OCDSB students who have failed or received an “I” in a course during the 20/21 school year.
- Must be currently registered in an OCDSB secondary school including those who have returned to their home country.
Registration:
- Students must register through their Guidance Counsellor.
- Following the registration by GC, SSTs will be contacted by CE staff to facilitate the transfer of the Evidence Record (required in order for the registration process to be finalized). Note: In the event that CE feels that a credit cannot be attained during the SS CR Program, we will reach back to the homeschool administration to determine next steps.
Requirements for Success:
- Students will need to login and participate in synchronous learning with their teacher daily, until the credit(s) are recovered or the program ends.
- As this is a virtual learning opportunity, in order to participate in this program students will need to have access to technology and the internet. Students who require technology and access to the internet should communicate their needs to their Guidance Counsellor.
