Board to consider appeal of Code of Conduct Decision on July 16

On Thursday, July 16, 2020, the Board will consider an appeal filed by Trustee Donna Blackburn in regards to a Code of Conduct decision. In a unanimous vote at a Special Board meeting on June 29, 2020, OCDSB Board of Trustees censured Trustee Blackburn under the Board Member of conduct and strongly recommended that she offer her resignation. The Board found that Trustee Blackburn’s behaviour did not meet the behavioural expectations of an elected trustee, as established in sections 3.8, 3.15 and 3.18 of the Board Member Code of Conduct policy. Read more about the decision here.

At the July 16th Special Board meeting, the Board will consider a request for an appeal of the decision. The Board must consider both the decision regarding the breach of the Board Member Code of Conduct, and the decision of the Board imposing sanctions. The Board must confirm, vary or revoke the decisions.

The meeting will be live-streamed. For more details visit the Special Board Meeting webpage
