D. Roy Kennedy Public School and South Carleton High School will be honoured by the Education Quality and Accountability Office (EQAO) with the Dr. Bette M Stephenson Recognition of Achievement on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 in Toronto.

This year the award is being presented to schools that have demonstrated growth in helping students with Individual Education Plans (IEP’s) meet provincial literacy standards. The award emphasizes equity and inclusion and aligns with the theme of the EQAO Forum, “Data, Equity and a Culture of Hope.”

Administrators, teachers and staff at D. Roy Kennedy Public School and South Carleton High School are being acknowledged for their use of data to enhance and support the progress of their students.

Director of Education, Jennifer Adams said, “D. Roy Kennedy Public School and South Carleton High School offer their students a caring, community school combined with evidence based action plans. This provides a solid foundation for enhanced academic achievement”.

This recognition program is named in honour of Dr. Bette M. Stephenson, who was minister of both Education and Colleges and Universities in Ontario and is currently a director emeritus on EQAO’s Board of Directors.
