Friday, November 24, 2023 is a Professional Activity Day for OCDSB elementary and secondary school staff. There will be no classes for students on this day.
The elementary PA Day is part of the parent/guardian-educator interview period. Interviews will take place between November 23-24 and focus on the Progress Reports distributed on November 16. More specific information about parent/guardian-educator interviews will be shared by each school.
The secondary PA Day focuses on key Ministry priorities: Literacy, numeracy, and cybersecurity and online privacy awareness. School staff will attend in-person and participate in presentations, group discussions, and collaborative activities facilitated by school administrators. A full agenda is provided below.

Through an exploration of a diagnostic tool, as well as the High Impact Instructional Practices, educators will:
- Recognize the need to know the learner in order to develop their literacy and numeracy skills;
- Develop understanding of the use of a diagnostic tool to improve oral reading fluency; and,
- Create the connections between Literacy and Numeracy and access to Pathways.
