Teenagers and preteens experience a number of changes and transitions in their lives, and these physical, emotional, cognitive, and social changes can bring strong and even overwhelming emotions. Teaching young people to identify and label their feelings, and to learn healthy ways to manage stress, is key to building essential life skills and promoting positive social and emotional development.

Join us this summer as we explore “Stress Lessons: From Stressed out to Chilled Out”, a virtual learning opportunity for Students in Grades 7 to 9. This program will help youth:

  • Recognize the signs and symptoms of stress
  • Understand what stress “feels” like
  • Identify stressors and their impact
  • See the upside of stress
  • Develop/implement coping and problem-solving strategies
  • Foster an increased sense of well-being.

The program consists of six virtual sessions facilitated by OCDSB mental health professionals.

Sessions will be held on:

Date: Tuesdays and Thursdays from July 11th – July 27th and from August 1st – 17th

Time: 1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.

Stress Lessons are open to all OCDSB students entering Grade 7, 8 or 9 in September 2023.

Each registrant will be contacted by one of the facilitators to discuss program details and share links to join the session.

To register, please complete this form by June 30th.

Space will be limited.
