The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board, in partnership with Carleton University, is proud to announce a pilot project called School Within A University (SWAU). This would be the second SWAU in Ontario and the first of its kind with an identified target audience.
SWAU will provide students in grades 11 & 12 with positive opportunities to experience a university learning environment. Students can explore this post-secondary opportunity and determine if university programming aligns with their pathway goals.
Students will be taking a Dual Credit university course at Carleton University. Upon successful completion of the university course, students will earn this university credit as well as a high school credit (depending upon each student’s pathway).
To know more, Grades 11 & 12 students and their parents/caregivers were invited for a virtual information session on December 11, 2023, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. This session, hosted by OCDSB’s Program and Learning Innovation staff, provided details about this pilot project and also include a Q&A section.

The registration deadline for SWAU is Friday, December 15th at noon. Please contact the guidance counsellor at your child’s school for more details.
