School Council Meetings
Posted on 09/22/2023

Typically, School Councils meet in the evening once a month during the school year. At a minimum, your School Council must meet 4 times a year. The first meeting must be held within 35 days of the first day of the school year after your new School Council is elected. School council meetings can be held in person, but schools are expected to work with the council to do what is best for their community.

If your council is planning to meet virtually, please review the documents Tips for Hosting School Council Meetings using Google Meet and A Guide to Google Meet for School Councils. Access to Google Meet is tied to an OCDSB email address. School council meetings could be set up on Google Meet using the Principal’s email address or the School Council's email address. Every School Council has an OCDSB email address ([email protected]). If you don't have access to this account, please ask the school’s Principal. If needed, they can request the login credentials from the Client Service Centre (CSC).
