Hi Everyone, I wanted to let you know about some interesting stuff happening in our district that you might want to check out. Also, be sure to check out the new Director’s Annual Report. It’s like a yearbook for the whole school district - you can see lots of amazing things students and staff did last year!

Good Afternoon, it was an honour to provide opening remarks at the 'Post-Secondary Pathways Launch 2024' event, held virtually across the province, earlier this week. Over 36 000 secondary students took part in an on-line day of exploration and awareness related to career possibilities... with over 80+ presentations and 60+ exhibitor booths! The virtual event allowed secondary students to gain a deeper understanding of different industries, professions and vocational paths.

Good Afternoon Students, earlier this week, it was so inspiring to take part in Glebe Collegiate Institute's 'Student Leadership and Mentorship Day'... a day of learning through 'passion projects'... organized by students for students. My sincerest thanks to the student leadership and voice of the Equi-Unity Committee for the kind invitation!

Good Afternoon Students, over the past two weeks, I have had the wonderful opportunity to visit a number of school sites and school-related events. Last week, for instance, I took part in the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Regional Conservation Forum at the Museum of Nature... a collaboration of governmental and non-governmental agencies, as well as Indigenous peoples' organizations... to discuss projects for environmental sustainability in the education sector.

Good Afternoon Students, this week, I was pleased to welcome our new Student Trustees to their first regular Board meeting: Jeffrey Zhang, from Earl of March Secondary School; Sharanya Sivasathiyanathan, from John McCrae Secondary School; and Indigenous Student Trustee Ezio De Stefano, who is an Urban Inuk student attending John McCrae Secondary School.
