Dear OCDSB Families,

January was a long month for all of us! It’s nice to welcome February and great for our secondary students to start the second semester with a return to four classes per day. And some good news - March Break is only 5 weeks away.

February is Black History Month and the OCDSB will celebrate with a number of activities and events for staff, students and families. Here are a few words I would like to share with you all as we kick off this month together. Please visit our website for more.

Report Cards in February for Secondary and Elementary Students

Report cards will be sent out to families via email. Secondary report cards will be sent on Thursday, February 10th, and elementary report cards will be sent on Wednesday, February 16th. You need to enter your child’s Ontario Education Number (OEN) to access the report card - please remember to include the hyphens when entering the number. If you have additional questions, visit our website

Register for Ottawa-Carleton Virtual Learning by February 22, 2022

We are planning for September 2022 and will offer both in-person and remote learning. We expect an increasing number of students to return to in-person learning in September. We also know that for some families, OCV has been and will continue to be an important choice for their learning needs. Please note, Middle French Immersion, Alternative, ESL/ELD programs, International Baccalaureate (IB), Arts, and Specialized Program Classes are not available through an OCV campus.

If you would like your child to attend an OCV school for the 2022-2023 school year, here is the process for registration:

  • Register - Complete the Registration Form by February 22, 2022.
  • Confirm - Families who have registered by February 22nd will receive an email in early March asking for Confirmation of Registration by March 10, 2022.

We continue to ask that families register with the understanding that this is a commitment for the full school year. We recognize that families’ needs can change and after the application period we will consider requests for OCV on a case-by-case basis, but we will not be able to guarantee space. If you are planning for in-person learning, no action is required.

We are continuing to work with Ottawa Public Health to support vaccine clinics to provide first or second doses to students. In Ottawa, appointments can be booked at any of the following locations:
