Staffing Announcements - OCDSB Leadership Team

The OCDSB is pleased to announce the following senior team appointments and portfolio changes effective August 15, 2022. 

New Appointments

 

Paula Hall - Superintendent of People, Culture and Leadership. 

Paula first joined the school district in 2010 as a Policy Analyst and has also held the roles of Strategic Business Analyst, Vice Principal, and Principal, and most recently has worked on the Policy Review Process. This new role will continue to guide the work of human resources management, operations and compensation and employee wellness, but with increased focus on employee engagement, staff training, and leadership development. 


Richard Sinclair - General Counsel

This role expands on Richard’s current portfolio as Manager, Legal Services and Labour Relations and assumes responsibility for all labour relations functions, risk management and privacy, consolidating legislative functions to enhance support to the system. Richard’s legal expertise and knowledge of the system will be a tremendous asset to the senior team.


James Proulx - Executive Officer, Information Technology and Digital Transformation. 

James is an experienced school board leader with a wealth of knowledge about information technology in a school board environment. James is currently the Chief Information Officer with the Catholic School Board of Eastern Ontario. 


Changes to Portfolio Responsibilities

 

The Equity and Indigenous Education portfolios will be divided. Shannon Smith will continue to support Indigenous Education and the Indigenous Education Council, and Mary Jane Farrish will assume responsibility for the Equity Division and the Advisory Committee on Equity. Shawn Lehman will assume responsibility for the Safe Schools Portfolio.
