OCDSB launches 2022 United Way Campaign

The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board (OCDSB) launched its annual United Way campaign today to raise funds for community initiatives to combat poverty, support youth and help people overcome challenges across the region.

The campaign runs from October 6, 2022, until November 10, 2022. OCDSB employees will engage in fundraising events and be offered the opportunity to donate to the United Way, the Education Foundation of Ottawa or the registered charity of their choice.

United Way East Ontario works with communities in Prescott-Russell, Ottawa, Lanark and Renfrew counties.

Last year, the OCDSB and its employees contributed nearly $68,000 through this campaign. Funds raised supported vital programs and initiatives, including those that helped at-risk children start school ready to learn and have a safe place to go after school to learn new skills.

The OCDSB is committed to building a Culture of Caring and Social Responsibility. Beyond the direct impact of supporting United Way’s programs, engaging with this campaign also provides an opportunity to teach students the importance of philanthropy and giving back to their community.
