This holiday season, the Education Foundation of Ottawa is asking you to Gift A Lift to an OCDSB student in need. Any and all donations provided can be just the lift a student needs to help them move toward a bright future, a full belly, or a warm winter.
Did you know that 1 in 5 children in Ottawa do not have what they need to succeed? It is the mission of the Education Foundation of Ottawa to change that. With your help, we can combat adversity by being there when OCDSB students need it.
We are counting on the OCDSB community to come together during the holiday season now more than ever. Collective impact means that by working together, staff, students, families, and community businesses, can all help us execute our mission. You never know what may come of your effort!
Recently, we had a few students from Carleton University's Global Minds Social Justice Club contact us because they wanted to help. They organized a bake sale on National Child's Day and were surprised when they raised $370! They used the funds raised to purchase backpacks and supplies for OCDSB students and can you believe that the same day the bags were dropped off to us, they went directly to a school in need! This is how you create real change!

A $20 donation can provide a week of school snacks for a hungry student. We know that a nourished belly can help students focus more in the classroom.
Gift a Lift of learning
A $50 donation can help us provide a deserving student with a backpack full of supplies. Many OCDSB students start the school year without a backpack or school supplies.
Gift a Lift of warmth
A $100 donation can help keep a student warm this winter. Winter is harsh and without proper clothing students are behind before they even step into the classroom.
