Blossom Park Students Celebrate Interests Day

Students at Blossom Park Public School had a unique opportunity to share a few of their favourite things with the school community. Since September, ten classes from grades 1 to 8 have been hard at work on their “interests projects,” preparing to present their favourite hobbies and topics to peers, parents, and community members.

The students began by selecting something they’re passionate about – including art, soccer, baking, cars, pets, games, and more. They created displays and presentations to share why they are interested in the topic and what it means to them.

In December, the classes presented their projects at the Interests Day showcase. The event offered students a chance to celebrate their unique identities, get to know their classmates better, and build connections with their community.

“Through this innovative project, students gained independence in making their own choices, sharing their voice, and learning while collaborating and working with others.  Students also developed communication and organizational skills. They truly enjoyed this project because they were given flexibility and choice to create and share their passion with others.” – Carmelina Falcucci, Vice Principal
