Board Member Code of Conduct Policy Consultations

Ontario Regulation 246/18, Members of School Boards—Code of Conduct requires every school board to adopt a code of conduct that applies to its members and to review it on or before May 15 on an election year and every fourth year thereafter.

At its April 04, 2023 meeting, the Committee of the Whole discussed the current Policy P 073 GOV - Board Member Code of Conduct including revisions that were approved on 07 May 2019 pending the appointment of an Integrity Commissioner. For further information, please consult Report 23-018.

Consultation has now been completed. We are deeply appreciative of the comments submitted regarding the revision of the policy. In light of the feedback and internal consultations, a revised Board Member Code of Conduct policy was brought to the May 10th Committee of the Whole meeting, and subsequently approved  at a Special Board Meeting that same night.

The final version of P.073.GOV: Board Member Code of Conduct is now available. If you have additional comments regarding this consultation or any other, please reach out to [email protected].
