School Council Spotlight: Half Moon Bay Dance-a-Thon

Half Moon Bay Public School held a successful Dance-a-Thon in February, made possible by the tireless efforts of School Council members, school staff, grade 6 students, and parent volunteers.
The school gym was transformed into a dance floor, and classes joined in the fun by signing up for Dance-a-Thon time-slots. Students had a blast hitting the dance floor, visiting various stations set up by grade 6 students, and playing games in a dedicated room for those who wanted to take a break from dancing. Throughout the event, students generously donated food items for the Barrhaven Food Cupboard. After the event, grade 6 students helped package and load three vehicles full of donations!
When the School Council delivered the donations, they were met with smiles and gratitude from the volunteers at the Barrhaven Food Cupboard. They were given a tour of the facility and learned about the incredible work done by these volunteers.
We couldn’t be prouder of our school community for coming together and
supporting such a wonderful cause. Kudos to everyone who participated
and made the FUNdraising initiative a huge success!
