Internship Program in School Psychology

Welcome to the Ottawa Carleton District School Board Internship Program in School Psychology

We acknowledge that the Ottawa Carleton District School Board Internship Program in School Psychology takes place on the traditional unceded, unsurrendered Algonquin Anishnaabeg Territory, and we thank the Algonquin Nation for hosting us on their land.

This internship program is a school-based psychology training program designed to support the development of school and clinical psychologists. Our program offers clinical experiences in assessment, intervention, and consultation, and has the opportunity for interns to have specialty experiences in specific areas of interest.

Interns work within schools as part of multi-disciplinary teams and function as part of our psychology team. A significant focus of this internship program is on diversity: working towards developing a knowledge and understanding of anti-oppressive, anti-racist, and culturally relevant practice.

We are located across the entire Ottawa region in Ontario, Canada. The Ottawa Carleton District School Board serves over 70,000 students ranging from junior kindergarten through the end of high school. Our student population represents the tremendous diversity in the Ottawa region. Given the wide variety of academic programming available within our school system, there is a great deal of flexibility to tailor our internship program to meet the individual training goals of each intern.

The OCDSB Internship Program in School Psychology is accredited with the Canadian Psychological Association.  We received initial accreditation in 2021-2022 and are up for reaccreditation in 2026-2027.  Information regarding accreditation status can be obtained from the CPA Accreditation Office at:
