OCDSB Speaker Series: Speech and Language Virtual Open House

OCDSB Speech Language Pathologists (SLPs) are offering a virtual open house for parents and caregivers of children of all ages. This webinar will provide information and resources on developing children’s communication skills. You will learn how SLPs can support you and your child, and discover other supports available at your school.

Time: 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Format: Zoom Webinar. Register now.

Speech Language Pathologists offer assistance in multiple ways to develop your child’s communication skills. They support:

  • Articulation (pronouncing words)
  • Receptive and expressive language (understanding and sharing thoughts through language)
  • Social skills
  • Fluency skills
  • Voice and resonance
  • Pre-literacy and literacy skills 
  • Executive functioning skills (planning, organizing and managing tasks)
  • Augmentative and alternative communication (methods to communicate when someone has difficulty using spoken language)
