Mental Health Week

Next week, from May 5th to 11th, is Mental Health Week. This year's theme is "Unmasking Mental Health," reminding us of our shared responsibility to challenge unfair judgments and negative assumptions about those living with a mental health or substance use challenge.
What's Going On?
The OCDSB has put together some simple and fun activities for families to do together to help us all talk about mental health in a positive way. We want everyone in our community to feel supported and safe.

You can find all the activities, tips, and videos on the Mental Health Week webpage. Here’s a sneak peek of what you can do each day:
- Monday: Take a mindful walk as a family. Slow down and take time to connect with nature.
- Tuesday: Talk about "smashing the stigma." Help kids understand that mental health is something everyone has and it's okay to talk about it.
- Wednesday: Make a gratitude jar or go on a gratitude scavenger hunt. What are you thankful for?
- Thursday: Challenge your family to do random acts of kindness. How can you make someone's day a little brighter?
- Friday: Focus on self-care. What makes each of you feel good? Talk about it and do it!
Let's work together to unmask mental health and build supportive connections at school, at home, and across our communities.
